Introduction of Activity
Harry Yuan, a Californian native and an extreme athlete is on the search for the art of movement. Trained in exercise physiology, Harry now journeys to China, the home of his ancestors and the land of extreme moves. In China, the term Kung fu doesn’t just mean fighting but describes someone who has mastered a skill after years of seriously tough training. With only 5 days to learn the iconic stunts of various Chinese art forms from Stilt walking to Man Juggling, the pressure is on as Harry struggles to acquire advanced skills in time for a performance to a knowledgeable and often critical audience at the end of his training. This series provides an insight into China’s culture and traditional movement arts as we journey through the compass points of the land. From Lion Dance in Guangdong, to the Monkey King in Beijing Opera, can Harry rise to the challenge? Watch as we find out whether he has what it takes to become a master of movement.
